From Overseas India is a Hindi program on FM COCOLO broadcasting every Sunday morning from 5 to 6 A.M. hosted by DJ Sunny Francis.

In this week's edition of the program, Sunny celebrates birthday of a film director Mani Ratnam. He is one of India's most acclaimed and commercially successful filmmakers, winning six National Film Awards, four Filmfare Awards, six Filmfare Awards South,and numerous awards at various film festivals across the world.

We have not talked much about him in the past, but have often played songs from his films like Bombay(1995), Dil Se..(1998), Guru(2007) and Ok Jaanu(2017).

And he is especially related to A.R.Rahman. A. R. Rahman debuted as a film composer with Ratnam's 1992 film [Roja]. He won the National Film Award for Best Music Direction, Filmfare Award for Best Music Director – Tamil and the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Music Director for his work.
