From Overseas India is a Hindi program on FM COCOLO broadcasting every Sunday morning from 5 to 6 A.M. hosted by DJ Sunny Francis.

In this week's edition of the program, Sunny picks-up Richa Sharma as featured artist. Sharma celebrates her 50th birthday next Thursday.

She debut in Bollywood with Sawan Kumar's Salma Pe Dil Aa Gaya in 1996 and followed it up by a number of films until the big hit came by in the form of Taal where she sang for A.R. Rahman.

She was trained in Indian classical and light music. Then she added ghazals; film songs, Punjabi and Rajasthani folk songs to her repertoire, thus making her voice reach out to more and more people in a variety of sounds.

This week's playlist contains variety of her music, from 90s to the latest 2024 film.

Shilpa Rao is a 40-year-old female playback singer. When she was studying at the college, Mithoon offered her to record the song "Tose Naina" from the film Anwar, that was 2007.

Since then, she has steadily built her career, and in 2024, she has been showing off her voice in popular films such as [Fighter] and [Crakk].

In the late 80s, Jagjit Singh introduced Sanu to Mumbai, then Sanu changed his early name from "Sanu Bhattacharya" to "Kumar Sanu" after his idol Kishore Kumar.

Then he rose fame in the 1990s and became one of the most prominent voices in Bollywood.
