Every 2nd week of the month, our program gives a friendly and easy-to-learn Filipino lesson. We dedicate the program to all who would like to learn the Filipino language, particularly to those of Filipino descent.

Key Words (SEPTEMBER 2023):

Hanapbuhay  — work or occupation (仕事)
Hanap — search (探す)
Buhay — life (人生;命)

N: “Contented life“ daw iyan.

Dialog in English (September 2023):

C: You know, Neriza, after my vacation in the Philippines, I’ve thought about our life here.
N: Cindy, seems like our conversation is serious. Didn’t you enjoy your vacation?
C: It was so much fun there. But here, we are immersed in work, day and night.
N: That’s what is called “caged life” as if a bird housed in a cage.
C: I have friends who are happy as retirees .... just kept on traveling.
N: That’s what they say “contented life”. Happy but boring. For me, I’m happier if there are challenges in life. They say that is called the challenged life.
C: Oh, before I forget. Please try this ham. I learned how to make it and I’ll sell it online!
N: So, that’s the challenged in life you are looking for!!!
C: Not really. I am just fond of ham.

Featuring OPM(Original Pilipino Music)[8.15 tue]

Magandang umaga po!

Original Pilipino Music, more commonly referred to as OPM, a term coined by Danny Javier of the APO Hiking Society, originally referred only to the pop genre of music from the Philippines, mostly ballads, that became popular after the collapse of its predecessor, the Manila sound of the 1970s.

Currently, the term "OPM" has been a catch-all description for all popular music of any genre composed and performed by Filipinos.
