It's the third Tuesday of the month. It means it is Music Feature. Mina picks-up Regine Velasquez as featured artist.

Regine Velasquez is considered one of the most influential figures in Philippine popular culture and is known for her vocal range and belting technique.

In March this year, she was honored with the prestigious Powerhouse Award at Billboard Philippines’ inaugural Women in Music event. The award, presented by her husband, long-time collaborator and Ogie Alcasid, recognized Velasquez-Alcasid’s unparalleled talent and influence in the Philippine music scene.

Every 2nd week of the month, our program gives a friendly and easy-to-learn Filipino lesson. We dedicate the program to all who would like to learn the Filipino language,

Walis – Broom (ほうき)

C: Naunahan tayo ni Mina. Nabili na pala niya ang bahay na ito.
N: Naghanap lang daw siya sa internet. Marami raw na mga bakanteng bahay o tinatawag na akiya na mura, lalo na iyong mga nasa malalayong lugar.
C: Pero maganda na rito sa Uji! Napakasarap ng matcha rito dahil sa paraan nila ng pagtatanim.

C: Uy, nagtext si Mina. Pabalik na raw siya at ibinili tayo ng ilang meryenda … matcha tea at matcha croissant.
N: Dali! Wala pa tayong nawawalisan!

Dialog in English (AUGUST 2024):
C: Mina was step ahead of us. She already bought this house.
N: She just searched the internet. There are many vacant houses or the so-called “akiya” that are cheap, especially those in far-flung places.
C: But it’s already good here in Uji. The matcha tea here is very delicious because of their way in cultivating it!
N: I heard that the former owner of this house was a tea master, that’s why they are going to bring tourists here to experience “Sado” or tea ceremony.
C: Let’s start cleaning this place. We must be ready for the influx of tourists.
N: Where are the whisk brooms and dust cloth?
C: Here you are! I bought all the remaining whisk brooms in Bautista, Pangasinan.
N: You are really brainy! Whisk brooms made from the dried tall grasses are good for sweeping tea leaves because it’s fine and soft.
C: Hey, Mina texted. She’s on the way back here and she bought us some snacks…. matcha tea and matcha croissant
N: Come on! We haven’t swept anything yet!

In this week's edition of the program, Mina picks-up Sponge Cola's 2023 album [Hometown, Part 2] as featured album. Sponge Cola is one of the most popular rock bands in the Philippines.

It was their 9th studio album released via Sony Music Entertainment, and serves as a continuation of the band’s full-length album, Hometown—released in December 2022.

One of the songs included is “So Close”, which features pop singer Morissette. The song was specifically penned by Yael Yuzon, and tackles the story of two people who have built a deep connection over time, but whose relationship never really progressed into something that could last a lifetime. The vocalist and guitarist Yael Yuzon said it took 20 years to write.

C: That’s true! That’s why I’m thinking of buying a vacation house in Baguio.
