N: Masinsinan kasi siya sa kanyang pananaliksik.
C: Kailangan niyang magrelaks ng kaunti. Isama natin siya sa tour sa Pilipinas sa Pasko.

C: Neriza, who is that student waiting at your classroom since this morning?
N: Oh…He is Carlos. He is one of our research students in the Philippine Studies Department
C: He seems to be in deep thoughts. I also saw him yesterday in the library.
N: He needs to finish the questionnaires for his research.
C: What topic does he have in mind?
N: About Filipino Japanese children born and raised in Japan!
C: That’s a good theme!
N: He has a matured mind ever since his first year in the university.
C: That’s why he looks older than his age. I thought he was the new young professor.
N: He’s serious in studies, that’s why he got a scholarship.
C: That’s why it took him until the closing time of the library.
N: Because he is thorough in his research.
C: He should loosen up a bit. Let’s bring him along to the Philippines tour on Christmas.

C: Ang laki naman! Takot ako sa ganyang klase ng hayop. Komodo dragon yata iyan, hindi bayawak. Delikado iyan kapag nakagat tayo!
N: Ha ha ha , kaya pala kapit -tuko ka sa braso ni Direk! Bubuli lang iyon ... Pero ano itong nakakapit sa walis tingting?
C: Ayyy ... butiki!!
Dialog in English (OCTOBER 2024):
N: The tea master, Mr. Maeda is very good. I learned a lot about different kinds of tea.
C: Mina’s first “tea tasting workshop” was indeed successful!
N: The raw tea is tasty (savory)!
C: But I also like the aroma and taste of the roasted green tea.
N: By the way, did you hear the sound of a gecko clinging on the Banyan tree in the garden?
C: Yes! It is said that the gecko calls its name five times if it has eaten something good.
N: Maybe it ate some leaves of the delicious tea. Wait, Cindy…. please stop the car! There’s a iguana crossing the street.
C: It’s so big! I’m afraid of those types of animals. I think it’s a Komodo dragon, not an iguana. It’s dangerous if we get bitten by it!
N: Ha ha ha .. that is why you are clinging tightly on our director’s arm. It’s only a sun skink. But…what’s this clinging on the stick broom?
C: Ohh .. a house lizard!!

In this week's edition of the program, Mina picks-up [Cinderella(Vicor 40th Anniversary Collection)] album released in 2010 for Music Feature.
Cinderella is a Filipino pop group that rose to prominence in the 1970s. Together with contemporaries Hotdog, they formed the impetus of what would be the Manila sound movement.
At the time, the Philippine music industry was relying on cover versions or imitations of foreign hits. Cinderella composed their own songs in Taglish, and it became popular in Manila.
Their songs still standout as classics event today, and covered by other artists. Please enjoy their mellow romantic sounds...!

N: Napakalawak naman pala ng bakuran. May taniman pa ng tsaa sa banda roon. Ang dami ring mga puno ng kastanyas. Ito ang paborito ko…kaki. Pero, ano na nga ito sa wikang Filipino?
C: Mabolo pero iba ang lasa sa kaki.
N: Ibig sabihin magkaiba ang uri nila?
C: Oo. Ang siyentipikong pangalan ng kaki ay Diospyros kaki at Diospyros blancoi naman ang mabolo.
N: Si Sister Uno na isang madreng Haponesa ay nagtanim ng kaki noong araw sa Baguio, pero maliliit ang bunga at ang mga sanga ay parang tingting sa payat.
C: Oo nga pala, may dala akong walis tingting na galing sa San Juan, Ilocos Sur
N: Ahh, walis tingting. Mainam pangwalis ng mga kastanyas na nalaglag.
C: Aba, May kumakaluskos sa kakahuyan. Maraming oso at baboy ramo na nagagawi rito. Dali, pumasok na tayo sa bahay!
N: Naku, hindi pala oso! Si Direktor pala! May dalang “nanbuhouki” (南部箒) na parang walis tambo ng Pilipinas.
Dialog in English (SEPTEMBER 2024):
C: Now that we got full from the snacks, let’s start cleaning the backyard.
N: The yard is so spacious. There’s a tea farm over there. There are many chestnut trees, too. This is my favorite, persimmon. But, how do we call this in Filipino?
C: It’s mabolo but it has a different taste from persimmon!
N: Meaning, they are of different species.
C: Yes. The scientific name of persimmon is Diospyros kaki and Diospyros blancoi for mabolo.
N: Sister Uno, who is a Japanese nun, planted persimmon trees in Baguio before but the fruits were small and the branches were thin as the midrib of the Buri leaves!
C: By the way, I brought broomstick from San Juan, Ilocos Sur.
N: Oh, broomstick. It’s good for sweeping chestnuts that have fallen on the ground.
C: Hey, there’s rustling in the woods. A lot of bears and wild boars visit here. Hurry up, let’s go into the house.
N: Oh, it’s not a bear! It’s our director...And he brought a “ nambuhouki “ which looks like the Philippines’ whisk broom.
