Every first broadcast of the month, our program gives a friendly and easy-to-learn Filipino lesson. We dedicate the program to all who would like to learn the Filipino language, particularly to those of Filipino descent.

C: Neriza, ano ba iyang bungkos ng gulay sa basket mo?
N: Talbos ng kamote mula sa taniman ni Direk. Hindi niya alam na kinakain ng mga Pilipino ang dahon ng kamote.
C: Naglalagay ako niyan sa Sinigang.
N: Cindy, may alam ka bang mabibilhan ng saging na saba? Magtitinda raw ang mga estudyante ko ng halo-halo sa culture day.
C: Bakit saba? Puwede naman silang gumamit ng minatamis na munggo at saka langka.
N: Pero mas gusto ko ang saba kaysa munggo.
C: Ako rin. Mas masarap ang halo-halo sa saba, Lalo itong sasarap kung may minatamis na kaong, langka at saka makapuno.
N: Sinabi mo. Lalo na kung may ube at saka leche flan pa.
C: Aba, si Direk yata iyong bumababa sa dalisdis. May bitbit na saging na saba!

C: What’s that bunch of vegetables in your basket, Neriza?
N: Sweet potato tops from Direk’s garden. He doesn’t know that Filipinos eat the leaves of sweet potato.
C: I put those in Sinigang soup!
N: Cindy, do you know where I can buy Saba bananas? My students want to sell halo-halo on culture day!
C: Why Saba? They can also use sweetened mung beans and jackfruits too!
N: But I prefer saba than sweetened mungbeans.
C: Me too. Halo-halo is more delicious with saba. It will be more delicious if there will be sweetened sugar palm fruits, jackfruit and also coconut sport.
N: True. Especially if there will be purple yam and also leche flan  
C: Hey! it’s Direk coming down the slope. He’s carrying Saba bananas.
