Every 2nd week of the month, our program gives a friendly and easy-to-learn Filipino lesson. We dedicate the program to all who would like to learn the Filipino language, particularly to those of Filipino descent.

Key Words (OCTOBER 2024):
Kapit-tuko – to grip tightly, to cling tightly (しっかり掴む、へばりつく、しがみつく)
Kapit – firm hold, grip (掴む、へばりつく)

N: Ang husay ng tea master na si Maeda-sensei. Marami akong natutuhan tungkol sa mga uri ng tsaa!
C: Matagumpay nga ang unang “ tea tasting workshop “ ni Mina!
N: Malinamnam ang lasa ng “Namacha”
C: Pero gusto ko rin ang amoy at lasa ng “houji cha“!
N: Siyanga pala, narinig mo ba yung huni ng tuko na mahigpit ang kapit sa puno ng Banyan sa halamanan?
C: Oo, limang beses raw hinuhuni ng gecko ang kanyang pangalan kapag nakakain ito ng masarap!
N: Siguro kumain rin iyon ng dahon ng masarap na tsaa! Teka, Cindy  pakihinto mo ang kotse. May tumatawid na bayawak sa daan!
C: Ang laki naman! Takot ako sa ganyang klase ng hayop. Komodo dragon yata iyan, hindi bayawak. Delikado iyan kapag nakagat tayo!
N: Ha ha ha , kaya pala kapit -tuko ka sa braso ni Direk! Bubuli lang iyon ... Pero ano itong nakakapit sa walis tingting?
C: Ayyy ... butiki!!

Dialog in English (OCTOBER 2024):
N: The tea master, Mr. Maeda is very good. I learned a lot about different kinds of tea.
C: Mina’s first “tea tasting workshop” was indeed successful!
N: The raw tea is tasty (savory)!
C: But I also like the aroma and taste of the roasted green tea.
N: By the way, did you hear the sound of a gecko clinging on the Banyan tree in the garden?
C: Yes! It is said that the gecko calls its name five times if it has eaten something good.
N: Maybe it ate some leaves of the delicious tea. Wait, Cindy…. please stop the car! There’s a iguana crossing the street.
C: It’s so big! I’m afraid of those types of animals. I think it’s a Komodo dragon, not an iguana. It’s dangerous if we get bitten by it!
N: Ha ha ha .. that is why you are clinging tightly on our director’s arm. It’s only a sun skink. But…what’s this clinging on the stick broom?
C: Ohh .. a house lizard!!
