From Overseas India is a Hindi program on FM COCOLO broadcasting on Monday in every two weeks from 8 to 9 P.M. hosted by DJ Sunny Francis.

In this week's edition, Sunny commemorates Asha Bhosle, the legend Bollywood playback singer who passed away in April. Asha was also a great singer who achieved great accomplishments, comparable to those of Lata.

Some facts about Asha:

* First film song she sang was "Chala Chala Nav Bala" for the Marathi film Majha Bal (1943)
* Her career spanning over eight decades
* The Guinness Book of World Records acknowledged her in 2011 as the most recorded artist in music history
* Apart from Hindi, she sang in over 20 Indian and foreign languages
* She debuted in the film Mai in the title role, at the age of 79
