今夜はDJロジェリオがアーティスト特集をお届けします。ピックアップするのは、今年のSUKIYAKI MEETS THE WORLDで大きな話題を集めたBIXIGA 70です。
お恥ずかしながらこれまで番組では取り上げたことのなかったBIXIGA 70ですが、結成から15年以上のキャリアを誇るサンパウロの9人編成ビッグバンドで、読み方は「ビシーガ・セテンタ」。様々なアーティストのバックバンドをしていたアーティストたちが結成し、インストのグルーヴを主軸にしたダンス音楽を標榜しています。
今回の初来日では、富山で2公演、東京で2公演を行い、オーディエンスからSNSを中心にそのパフォーマンスを絶賛されました。ぜひ関西での公演も含めた再来日を期待したいですね・・・!

N: Cindy, do you know where I can buy Saba bananas? My students want to sell halo-halo on culture day!
C: Why Saba? They can also use sweetened mung beans and jackfruits too!
N: But I prefer saba than sweetened mungbeans.
C: Me too. Halo-halo is more delicious with saba. It will be more delicious if there will be sweetened sugar palm fruits, jackfruit and also coconut sport.
N: True. Especially if there will be purple yam and also leche flan
C: Hey! it’s Direk coming down the slope. He’s carrying Saba bananas.

From Overseas Philippines is a Filipino radio program broadcasting on Thursday every two weeks from 8 P.M. with DJ Cindy & Mina.
In this week's edition, DJ Mina picks-up Celeste Legaspi and Odette Quesada as featured artists of Music Feature.
This year, the Pinoy Playlist Music Festival (PPMF) honored them through the Ryan Cayabyab Awards.
Celeste Legaspi's songs blend traditional Filipino music with influences from pop and jazz. She is also a mentor and advocate for the performing arts, who continues to inspire our artists to showcase Filipino culture.
Odette Quesada is dubbed the Queen of Philippine Pop Ballads. A singer-songwriter, her music is more on soulful performances that bridge communities and generations.

今夜はDJロジェリオが久しぶりのアルバム特集をお届けします。ピックアップするアルバムは、Ney Matogrosso / Hectoが今年リリースしたアルバム「Canções Para Um Novo Mundo」です。
今月で84歳を迎えて、なお現役バリバリのNey Matogrosso。Netflixでは伝記映画「ラテン・ブラッド」(原題: Homem Com H) も好評です。
因みにHectoというのは、Guilherme Gê と Marcelo Laderからなるバンドのことで、コラボレーション作としては、2004年にPedro Luís e a Paredeと共作した「Vagagundo」以来の作品となります。
今回のアルバムは収録された全9曲のうち、6曲が新曲で、Frejat、Ana Cañas、Will Calhoun(Living Colour)といったアーティストたちが参加しています。
大ベテランにも関わらず創作意欲の衰えないNey Matogrosso。格好良いですよね~!

Music Feature: The Traveller Across Dimensions / Ben&Ben[6.26 thu]

From Overseas Philippines is a Filipino radio program broadcasting on Thursday every two weeks from 8 P.M. with DJ Cindy & Mina.
In this week's edition, DJ Mina picks-up Ben&Ben's 2024 álbum [The Travellers Across Dimensions]. As we often play their songs in the program, you might know them already.
They are an indie folk-pop band from Manila. They were formed in 2016 by twin brothers Paolo and Miguel Benjamin Guico. Although they have released only 3 albums so far, Ben&Ben have received numerous accolades, including an Asia Artist Award, an Aliw Award, a NME Award, two Myx Music Awards, three Star Awards, and sixteen Awit Awards.
Whey they released the álbum [The Travellers Across Dimensions] last November, they promoted it on Spotify's digital Billboard in Times Square in New York City.
