The day of "Chirashi sushi" on 27/June[6.24 thu]

Do you know when is the day of
"Chirashi sushi"? Most of the Japanese
do not know. It is 27/June.

How did it begin? It dates back to Edo
period. In the 17th century, local Feudal
lord of Okayama called Masamitsu Ikeda
was encouraging people to be humble.
One of the things he was insisting was
to eat rice and a kind of meal for
one time. It means that there should not
be so many meals with rice.

Then people consider how to deal with it,
and discovered "Chirashi sushi" to
contain many kinds of ingredients
with rice. 27/June is the day Masamitsu
Ikeda died in 1682.
